Portomina Football Academy
Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
Please read these terms carefully before registering your child with Portomina Football Academy. By completing registration you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all of the following terms and conditions.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering a child with Portomina Football Academy ("the Academy"), the parent or legal guardian ("Parent") agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms govern participation in all Academy programmes, training sessions, trials, and related activities. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not proceed with registration.
2. Registration & Eligibility
Registration is open to children aged 5–14 years. A completed registration form and signed digital consent must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian before a child may participate in any Academy activity. The Academy reserves the right to decline or cancel any registration at its sole discretion. All information provided during registration must be accurate and kept up to date.
3. Programme Fees & Payment
Programme fees are communicated at the time of enrolment and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Fees are due in advance of each term or session block as specified. The Academy does not offer refunds for missed sessions due to personal reasons, illness, or holidays unless otherwise agreed in writing. In the event the Academy cancels a session, a make-up session or credit will be offered where possible.
4. Code of Conduct — Players
All players are expected to:
• Treat coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials with respect at all times.
• Arrive on time, in appropriate kit, and ready to participate.
• Follow the instructions of coaches and Academy staff.
• Refrain from bullying, aggressive behaviour, or the use of offensive language.
• Take care of Academy equipment and facilities.
• Represent the Academy with pride and sportsmanship.
Persistent or serious breaches of the code of conduct may result in suspension or permanent exclusion from the Academy without refund.
5. Code of Conduct — Parents & Guardians
Parents and guardians are expected to:
• Support their child in a positive and encouraging manner.
• Respect the decisions of coaches and Academy staff.
• Refrain from coaching from the sidelines during sessions.
• Not use abusive, threatening, or offensive language toward any person at Academy activities.
• Ensure their child is collected promptly at the end of each session.
• Inform the Academy of any changes to emergency contact details or medical conditions.
The Academy reserves the right to exclude parents or guardians whose behaviour is deemed detrimental to the welfare of players or staff.
6. Medical Consent & Health
Parents confirm that their child is medically fit to participate in football training. Any known medical conditions, allergies, or medications must be disclosed on the registration form and updated promptly if circumstances change. In the event of a medical emergency, the Academy will attempt to contact the parent or emergency contact immediately. If contact cannot be made, the Academy may authorise emergency medical treatment as deemed necessary by medical professionals. The Academy is not liable for any costs arising from such treatment.
7. Liability Waiver
Participation in football training involves inherent physical risks including, but not limited to, sprains, strains, fractures, and other injuries. The Academy takes all reasonable precautions to minimise risk, including qualified coaching staff and appropriate warm-up and cool-down procedures. However, by registering, the Parent acknowledges and accepts these inherent risks and agrees that the Academy, its coaches, staff, and volunteers shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage suffered by a child during Academy activities, except where such injury results from proven negligence on the part of the Academy.
8. Photography & Media Consent
The Academy may photograph or video record training sessions, matches, and events for use in promotional materials, social media, and the Academy website. By providing photography consent during registration, the Parent grants the Academy a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use images or footage in which their child appears for these purposes. No images will be sold to third parties. Parents who do not wish their child to be photographed must indicate this during registration and may update their preference at any time by contacting the Academy in writing.
9. Data Protection & Privacy
The Academy collects and processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Personal information provided during registration is used solely for the purposes of administering the child's participation in Academy programmes, communicating with parents, and ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants. Data will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or with the explicit consent of the Parent. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting info@portomina.com.
10. Attendance & Punctuality
Regular attendance is important for player development and team cohesion. Parents are asked to notify the Academy in advance if their child is unable to attend a session. Persistent unexplained absences may result in the child's place being offered to another player. Players should arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time and must be collected promptly at the end of each session. The Academy cannot accept responsibility for children who are not collected within a reasonable time after a session ends.
11. Termination of Membership
Either party may terminate a child's enrolment with reasonable written notice. The Academy reserves the right to terminate enrolment immediately in cases of serious misconduct by the child or parent, non-payment of fees, or where continued participation is deemed contrary to the welfare of the child or other participants. No refund will be issued in cases of termination due to misconduct.
12. Changes to These Terms
The Academy reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Parents will be notified of material changes with reasonable notice. Continued participation following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ras Al Khaimah.
